Introduction to iPods

Apple introduced the iPod in 2001. It was an MP3 plays that offered the amazing 5 gigabytes of storage capacity. Now, six generations later, they not only play songs, games and offer photo slideshows, the storage as increased up to 160 GB for any type of file. Consumer electronics development and marketing has been a lesson in evolution. But, despite difficult repairs and the quick death of the batteries, millions of people continue to buy them and their coordinating Apple products. The sixth generation of iPod classics was released in 2007. Making it a full fledged portable media center, it offers a video player, photo viewer, audio player and a portable hard drive. You can get it in 80GB and 160GB and it has a color LCD screen. There are other devices in the current generation in addition to the iPod classic. Arriving in September 2007 was the iPod Touch with its touch screen, 8 or 16GB capacity and it is similar in looks to the iPhone and uses the multi-touch user interface. With just 1GB capacity, the iPod shuffle has no display and plays only songs. Digital audio comes on the iPod nano along with 4 and 8GB capacities and displays digital photos. With a smaller form factor than the iPod video, it has just a 2-inch display screen.
